You can fly into this world-famous fish restaurant in Muskoka this summer

Instead of driving to your local restaurant for dinner this summer, try flying in. Henry’s Sans Souci, located on Frying Pan Island in Sans Souci on Georgian Bay, offers a picturesque setting with views of the Georgian Bay—and traveling to the restaurant will be half the fun of your overall dining experience.

Henry’s can only be accessed by boat or seaplane, making it the perfect location for a romantic date night or a night out with friends and family. Water taxis from Parry Sound go there daily, as well as the Chippewa cruise boat. If you have a little more cash to spend, you can enjoy a round-trip helicopter ride to Henry’s and an hour on Frying Pan Island. Looking at Tripadvisor reviews, the most popular travel option by far seems to be by seaplane via Georgian Bay Airways—they offer flights from their base in Parry Sound Harbour directly to Henry’s.

Once you arrive, you can luxuriate in the restaurant’s outdoor seating area while enjoying the scenic beauty. The ambiance is warm and relaxing with nautical-themed decor, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking to sample local cuisine in a waterfront setting.

To enhance the dining experience, their menu showcases the bay’s rich maritime heritage, offering a variety of seafood options sourced from Georgian Bay and Lake Erie, as well as freshly caught trout and pickerel prepared in different styles (such as grilled, baked, or pan-seared).

If seafood isn’t your thing, they also offer “non-fish” choices such as their Basmati rice bowl piled high with grilled vegetables, a butcher-style beef patty charbroiled on a brioche bun, breaded chicken tenders, roasted aioli chicken brioche, and southwestern-seasoned black bean vegan burger.

Their appetizers include everything from grilled Vienna-style garlic bread, smoked fish in their signature brine, fresh sweet seafood chowder cooked slowly in a seasoned cream base, thick breaded pineapple-cut calamari, and shrimp skewers. The restaurant’s world-famous fish and chips are always a popular choice—their fish fillets are prepared with the option of battered, pan-fried, or gluten-free coating).

Prices are reasonable and come in large, family-sized portions.

Henry’s Sans Souci location (which is currently for sale), is only open during the summer, so it will be open for business this Friday June 7. The restaurant will initially only be open on weekends but will operate from Tuesday through Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., from June 28.

A second Henry’s Harbour location officially opened in late April at 9B Bay St. in Parry Sound—this location is open year-round, from Tuesday through Sunday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
