Chef’s Note: It’s that time of year when we ramp up our amorous side for our loved one(s). What better way to show your love than cooking a meal for that special person, a meal that is delicious, hearty and can also be looked upon as a dessert. You have captured the main course and dessert all on one plate with this Valentine’s Day Pasta Treat. This dish is sure to please and help give your loved one that extra nudge, wink, wink on Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!
Ingredients
• 2 portions of pasta (recommend Fusilli pasta)
• One container of fresh strawberries (wash strawberries)
• 1 litre of vegetable broth
• 1/2 cup of natural yoghurt,
• 1/4 cup of sour cream
• 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 4 to 5 tablespoons of honey (or maple syrup).
• 3 ounces of red crystal sugar.
Directions
• Pour the 1 litre of vegetable broth into pot with the Fusilli
• Cook the Fusilli to manufacture recommendation
• Once pasta is cooked, drain and ensure that all the water is gone.
• Do not add any oil or butter
• Cut your strawberries in half
• Cut the strawberry pieces in half again and then place then on the plate
• Get the container of yogurt, sour cream, vanilla extract, and honey, and mixed together
• Finely chop the other pieces, and add then into the yoghurt mix
• Take your remaining strawberries, cut them in half and place these pieces in the centre of the plate to form a circle or be creative and form a heart. Your cooked pasta will be placed inside the strawberry circle or heart shape as per the photo
• Add your pasta to your yoghurt mixture and gently turn
• Place your pasta with the chopped strawberries into the centre
• Decorate the outside of your plate with red crystal sugar.
