The RCMP Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) for GTA/Southwest apprehended two individuals from Ontario, following an extensive 18-month investigation into their suspected involvement in far-right extremism, according to a news release. The accused are alleged to have played a role in creating manifestos for the Terrorgram Collective and producing recruitment videos for Atomwaffen Division (AWD), both associated with neo-Nazi ideologies and acts of terrorism.

The investigation, which spanned the Niagara and Toronto regions, resulted in the discovery of substantial evidence supporting criminal charges against the two men. Atomwaffen Division, designated a terrorist entity in Canada in 2021, led to the formation of Active Club Canada by former members.

According to the RCMP, Active Club Canada members have been observed conducting combat training exercises in local parks, and they have ties to the “Hammerskins” in the Durham region. Charges have been laid against the two individuals, including hate crimes offenses, participation in the activities of a terrorist group, and facilitating terrorist activity.

One of the suspects is facing multiple charges, including hate crimes offenses for a terrorist group, participation in the activities of a terrorist group, and facilitating terrorist activity. The other individual is charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist group.

Both appeared in court on Dec. 6, and are being held for bail hearings. The RCMP expressed gratitude to various agencies, including Toronto Police Services for support throughout the investigation.
