During a recent sojourn to New York City, the Montreal-born Bouchard took in an NHL game at the UBS Arena, home of the New York Islanders.

The 28-year-old was in such a New York state of mind she even — gasp — donned an Islanders jersey, and not much else.

She fully chronicled her adventure in the Big Apple on Instagram, where outside the rink she sported ripped jeans, a cozy white knit top, a long beige coat and white pointed-toe high heel boots.
At UBS Arena, however, she melted the ice and even got a shout-out from the Isles.
Bouchard captioned one photo: “Long Island girlie!”

Fans of Bouchard remarked on the Gotham glamour puss, particularly noting her “Canadianness.”
One joked: “Canadian girlies know how to dress in cold weather, period.”
Other posters said Bouchard was a “Very pretty, fellow Canadian,” “Looking very stylish, Genie,” and “Your Canadianness is showing.”
Last month in her hometown, Bouchard hooked up with another Canadian icon, country songbird Shania Twain. Bouchard posted a selfie of herself and the Man! I Feel Like a Woman! singer.

And it seems that, yes, Bouchard was much impressed. She called Twain one of her lifelong idols who celebrates her small-town Canadian roots.
Bouchard gushed: “A living legend. An icon.
“I’ve looked up to Shania ever since I was three years old. She’s from a small town in Canada and had massive success, and that inspired me. It made me believe I could have success too. What a night for my family and I! Thank you, Shania,”
And fans of both women appeared overcome.
One Instagram user said: “Canadian queens! So iconic!” Another added: “My Canadian heart is so happy for you, seeing this! Congrats!”
