First look at the Blue Jays new 100-level seating ahead of team’s home opener

The Toronto Blue Jays are releasing images of the newly renovated 100 level seating and new fan experiences ahead of the team’s home opener on Monday night.

The overhaul, part of a multi-year, nearly $400 million project, marks a significant milestone in the team’s efforts to modernize the stadium.

The renovation involved the complete demolition and reconstruction of the original 100 level infield seating bowl from foul pole to foul pole, prioritizing an optimal baseball viewing experience for spectators. The unveiling of the reimagined seating bowl, coupled with last season’s introduction of the popular Outfield District, signifies the Blue Jays’ commitment to evolving Rogers Centre into a premier destination for baseball fans.

“To build a sustainable championship organization, we needed a home that is specifically for baseball,” said Mark Shapiro, President & CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays. “We asked ourselves at the onset what we would build if we were designing a ballpark, and we fit that vision into the existing infrastructure of Rogers Centre, with fans always at the centre.”

The extensive renovation project, initiated in July 2022, has seen substantial progress, with the first phase focusing on the outfield enhancements, including the introduction of five distinct social spaces within the Outfield District. This latest phase has seen the incorporation of state-of-the-art player facilities and premium clubs beneath the revamped seating bowl, enhancing both fan and player experiences.

Key features of the revamped 100 level seating bowl include seats oriented towards the infield, improved sightlines, enhanced comfort with additional legroom and cupholders, and a greater variety of viewing options, catering to the diverse preferences of fans.

The extensive construction efforts involved an average of 350 Canadian tradespeople daily, accumulating approximately 400,000 worker hours to complete the demolition and reconstruction of the seating bowl. Despite ongoing work to finalize player facilities and premium clubs, fans can already enjoy the enhanced ballpark experience during the opening homestand from April 8 to 17.

In addition to the revamped seating bowl, fans can explore added features and returning favourites throughout the stadium, including new drink rails and unique activations within the Outfield District.
