Climb aboard Heineken’s new ‘Route 0.0’ streetcar bar to take in Toronto’s buzziest nightlife spots

New ‘streetbar’ will feature music from local DJs and provide guests with complimentary entry, line bypass and Heineken 0.0 at select Toronto bars

TORONTO, Jan. 10, 2024 – After all the social gatherings and parties, some Canadians may be feeling the aftereffects of the busy holiday season. And while many may see January as a time to stay in, Heineken 0.0 is encouraging consumers to shake off the winter blues and enjoy good times with friends – without alcohol. With the new Heineken “Route 0.0” experience, Canadians can enjoy a memorable night out on the town.

This specially branded TTC streetcar will be cruising into Toronto neighbourhoods to transport riders to the city’s hottest nightlife areas beginning Saturday, January 13th and running every Saturday until January 27th. This isn’t your average streetcar journey either, since you don’t have to wait for the bar to be served up a cold one!

Riders of legal drinking age will be able to hop aboard Heineken Route 0.0 free of charge at dedicated stops in the city. Starting at Union Station, the ‘streetbar’ will take riders on a unique route through some of the city’s liveliest spots, including King West, Queen West and Parkdale. Inside the streetcar, they’ll be greeted with live music from some of Toronto’s hottest DJs, including BAMBIICYRUS and Karim Olen Ash. They will also receive complimentary Heineken 0.0 – proof that the journey can be as fun as the destination.

And the good times don’t stop once you get off! Heineken has partnered with select local bars across the city where you can show your Route 0.0 wristband to skip the line (and the cover charge!) and grab some free Heineken 0.0 so you can keep the party going.

Select local bars participating in Heineken Route 0.0 include Belfast Love, Isabelle’s, Parlour, Drake Hotel, Death & Taxes, Three Dollar Bill, and Peaches Sports Bar.

“We know that many people cut back or abstain from drinking altogether in January, but that doesn’t mean they have to stay home the whole month,” said Jose Casillas, Marketing Director at Heineken. “We want Canadians to hit the town for a fun night out without alcohol. And thanks to the refreshing, great taste of Heineken 0.0, they can!”

Heineken 0.0 is a refreshing non-alcoholic lager, brewed with a unique recipe for a distinct balanced taste that allows you to enjoy a Heineken beer at any time of the day without sacrificing great taste or great times.

Heineken Route 0.0 will be taking place in Toronto during the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, January 13 – 9:30-11:30 p.m., featuring DJ CYRUS
  • Saturday, January 20 – 7:30-11:30 p.m., featuring DJ Karim Olen Ash
  • Saturday, January 27 – 7:30-11:30 p.m., featuring DJ BAMBII

The route will begin at Union Station, followed by stops at King W and Portland, Queen W and Bathurst, Queen W and Abell, Queen W and Sorauren, and Dundas West Station, before looping back towards Union Station.
