We won’t know for sure until later in the week, but someone posted a shot of a different looking Blue Jays jersey and social media went wild for it, assuming it was the long-awaited City Connect Blue Jays jerseys that the franchise has been hyping up for some time now.

Draftkings tweeted Monday afternoon: “WE’VE GOT A BLUE JAYS CITY CONNECT LEAK FOLKS (via @paintsbyparkin)” with a picture of a black Nike Jays jersey with the Toronto skyline in blue.
However, the original poster cast some doubt on the authenticity of the jerseys, saying: “Thanks for sharing but just a reminder this is from a post I saw on Facebook, I added it’s not a reliable source and I’m only sharing what I saw, I don’t know if it’s true but if so I’m disgusted.”

Many other fans didn’t seem too happy with the design either.
Back in February, the Jays first announced the City Connect jerseys were coming this season. Nine teams are getting them this year, though most franchises already unveiled them in prior years.
The Jays sent out an X post of their own on Monday afternoon, perhaps trying to calm the waters. It showed video footage of the Rogers Centre and CN Tower before things get grainy and switch to the CN Tower lit up in purple, which most took to be a sign that the leaked black Jays jersey wasn’t the City Connect version.

The City Connect uniforms are supposed to celebrate each MLB city’s unique culture, history, and spirit that connects the community to the team.
The Blue Jays will officially unveil the jerseys on their social media channels on Thursday, followed by a release party and the team will don them for the first time to kick off the weekend series Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
This will be part of City Connect Week, which features two City Connect giveaways for the first 15,000 fans on June 3 and 5. There will be a City Connect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. bobblehead giveaway on Monday and a City Connect backpack will be given away before the June 5 game.
